Southsea Nature Nursery is a vibrant, plastic-free pre-school located in the picturesque grounds of St John's College in Southsea. Catering to children aged 2-5 years, the nursery operates five days a week during term time and accepts Government Free-Entitlement Funding. Founded and managed by Amber Dyer, who has over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, Southsea Nature Nursery emphasizes a play-based, eco-conscious learning philosophy.

The nursery provides a unique free-flow environment, offering both indoor and outdoor play opportunities that encourage exploration in all weather conditions. With a commitment to sustainability, children are introduced to natural resources, planting, and harvesting, fostering a profound appreciation for the environment.

Amber's dedication to child-led learning reflects the values of the Forest Schools movement, as well as the educational philosophies of Rudolf Steiner and Maria Montessori. Children are encouraged to develop individually while learning from each other in a mixed-age setting, cultivating a strong sense of community and care.
