Southwark Cyclists

Southwark Cyclists is a community organisation for people who live in Southwark and enjoy riding bikes. It promotes cycling as a practical form of transport and works with Southwark Council and local communities to make cycling safer, more accessible and enjoyable. The group also advocates for cyclists’ needs to be considered in new developments and campaigns for better streets and infrastructure.

Southwark Cyclists offers activities and support for riders of different experience levels. Its programme includes Healthy Rides, cycle buddies, Dr Bike sessions and the annual Dunwich Dynamo, as well as organised feeder rides to cycling events. The organisation provides information for people new to cycling, guidance on secure bike parking and cycle routes, and other useful resources. Members and local residents can get involved through volunteering, meetings, consultations and street-improvement campaigns. Southwark Cyclists also shares updates and event information through its website and social media. With a diverse, active membership, it brings people together to strengthen cycling locally and help more residents enjoy the benefits of getting around by bike.
