About Society of Voice Art
Established in 2013 by founding members Rudy Gaskins and Joan Baker, SOVAS aims to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion at all levels. The society traces its roots back to the year 2005 when Joan Baker authored the book Secrets of Voice-over Success, which provided valuable insights into the journeys of America's top voice actors. Over time, book signings evolved into ticketed community events and workshops, eventually culminating in the annual career expo known as That's Voiceover!™ Career Expo and the esteemed Voice Arts® Awards.
These events, along with the SOVAS Scholarships and financial relief programs, form the backbone of the organization. With a commitment to fostering talent and recognizing excellence, Society of Voice Art is dedicated to shaping the future of the voice acting industry through education, career advancement opportunities, and prestigious accolades
