So Watt Design Studio is a boutique manufacturing and design studio based in Sydney, NSW. Established in 2015, So Watt aims to change the conversation around sustainable, Australian-made furniture and joinery by making it accessible to homeowners and businesses. The studio houses a 300 square metre workshop in Marrickville, one of the few inner-city design workshops in Sydney open to the public.

Visitors can explore their showroom filled with plywood furniture, attend workshops and classes, and even drop in to say hi. So Watt bridges the gap between designer and furniture maker, bringing all necessary expertise under one roof. They offer a range of products including handles, homewares, pegboards, seating, tables, desks, and shelving, as well as custom furniture and bespoke joinery services.

With a focus on honesty, sustainability, and local industry support, So Watt designs with local artisans, materials, and for a local audience, hoping to celebrate and transcend Australian design on a global scale. With their manufacturing process taking place in-house, their designers have full immersion in the creation process, resulting in rigorously tested pieces and finishes. The team at So Watt is composed of skilled individuals including Jonathan Biet, the lead designer and director, Sophie Biet, the co-owner and designer, Hamish Anderson, the lead machinist, Harry Williams, the assistant project manager, and Kirk Sowter, the furniture maker.
