The Sociedade Portuguesa de Astronomia (SPA), or Portuguese Astronomical Society, is an organization dedicated to valuing and promoting astronomy in Portugal. For 25 years, it has brought together researchers, students and astronomy enthusiasts through an active community and a programme of scientific and educational activities.

The SPA shares news and information about astronomical events, including lunar and solar eclipses, and highlights achievements by Portuguese students in astronomy competitions. It supports the Astronomy Olympiads and Junior Astronomy Olympiads, helping select students to represent Portugal internationally. The society also promotes webinars, conferences and seminars on topics ranging from exoplanets and galaxies to black holes and the structure of the Milky Way. Its events connect audiences with current research and astronomy discussions in Portugal and abroad.

Visitors can learn about the society, its governing bodies, statutes and international representation, explore membership information, and find useful links and contact details. The SPA also lists astronomy events and maintains connections with organizations and networks including the EAS, IAU and ESO.
