SP-Modeller

SP Modeller is a traditional model-making workshop in Ringsted, Denmark, with experience dating back to its founding in 1990. Now run by model maker Jan Larsen, the company creates models for industrial foundries, experiments, exhibitions, and building renovation. Its work combines skilled craftsmanship with materials including wood, plywood, durable plastics, and, for exhibition models, acrylic.

For iron and metal foundries, SP Modeller produces models tailored to casting requirements. The workshop also builds models for tests and investigations, drawing on experience in their design and construction. Exhibition commissions range from models of foundations and buildings for industrial purposes to displays featuring Danish sports figures’ handprints and footprints. Projects can be made from supplied objects or drawings, with materials and colours selected to suit the intended use.

SP Modeller also recreates distinctive architectural features during renovation of older and newer buildings. One example is its recreation of the weather-vane cupola at Ringsted Waterworks.
