The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) believes that old buildings have a future. Founded by William Morris in 1877, SPAB was created in response to the damaging restoration work carried out by Victorian architects. Today, SPAB promotes excellence in new design that complements and enriches the historic environment. They train architectural professionals and building craftspeople to shape this landscape with sensitivity and skill.
