About Makerspace Haagse Hout
Makerspace Haagse Hout is an independent foundation in The Hague, continuing the work of FabLab Mariahoeve. Established as a separate foundation in August 2024, it aims to provide an accessible, inclusive place where people of all ages and backgrounds can explore technology, art and crafts, individually or together. The organization encourages creativity, practical self-reliance and innovation, with an emphasis on sustainable and, where possible, reused materials.
Local residents can use available machines and tools during public visiting hours, with a manager present. The workshop offers a range of equipment, including 3D printers, a resin printer, a laser cutter, a CNC mill, a 3D scanner, a cutting plotter, electronics tools and hand tools. Beginners can take workshops to learn to use equipment such as 3D printers and the laser cutter.
Its portfolio features projects combining design and technology, including a game-playing robot arm, a Sisyphus sand table, recycled 3D-printing filament research, marquetry furniture and an assistive candle-making tool.
