Space Hubs Network (SUN) is a European initiative focused on helping start-ups and scale-ups grow in the space industry. Through an EU-funded programme, SUN brought together entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises, mentors, and emerging space businesses from across Europe. Its support included one-to-one mentoring, acceleration assistance, and guidance for teams at different stages of business development, with a particular emphasis on strengthening growth and attracting investment.
SUN also organized hackathons, workshops, webinars, roadshows, and other events to connect participants, share expertise, and explore topics relevant to space businesses, from legal issues to the lunar economy. The network engaged experienced professionals as mentors and worked through a consortium of seven partners to provide industry knowledge, build connections, and raise awareness across upstream and downstream space sectors.
Over three years, the programme supported the growth of 77 European space start-ups and scale-ups. Its work also contributed to the establishment of six new space technology start-ups, while 20 supported companies were able to attract funding.
