Space Norway is an innovative leader in satellite technology, dedicated to enhancing connectivity in the Arctic region. The company proudly announces the launch of its two Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission (ASBM) satellites aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, designed to deliver continuous broadband coverage north of 65° N latitude. These state-of-the-art satellites, each weighing around two tons and featuring an expansive wingspan of approximately 27 meters with solar panels deployed, represent a significant milestone in satellite communications.

The ASBM initiative is a collaborative effort involving partners such as Northrop Grumman, which constructed the satellites, and Viasat, the commercial operator committed to providing broadband services to end-users in the Arctic. Notably, the satellites carry diverse payloads from the Norwegian Armed Forces, the US Space Force, and a Norwegian-developed radiation monitor that plays a crucial role in supporting the European Commission's efforts with Galileo communication satellites.
