Spaerne

Denksportcentrum ’t Spaerne is a welcoming games and social venue in Haarlem, Netherlands, offering a place for local clubs and visitors to enjoy a range of traditional mind sports. The centre hosts bridge, billiards, draughts and chess clubs, and provides facilities for both organised play and casual visits. Non-members can rent a billiards table to play with friends or colleagues; visitors are also invited to enjoy a drink in the café or, in pleasant weather, on the terrace overlooking the Spaarne.

The café serves a broad selection of speciality beers, available on tap and in bottles, as well as a large range of alcohol-free beers. For those interested in learning bridge, beginner and follow-up courses are available, with further information provided by course organiser Doke Roozen. The centre’s programme and opening hours vary by day, and it is closed on Fridays and on Sundays and public holidays. Located on Spaarndamseweg, ’t Spaerne combines recreational games, club activities, refreshments and a riverside setting.
