Spark, formerly known as Community Solutions, has provided community-based and substance abuse services to Hampton Roads for 22 years. Based in Virginia Beach, the organization supports youth, adults, and families seeking recovery, stronger relationships, and healthier futures. Its substance abuse services include assessments and intensive outpatient treatment for youth and adults, delivered by certified substance abuse counselors. Spark also offers family services such as mentoring, visitations, groups, and Brief Strategic Family Therapy, alongside counseling and support to help people understand and change challenging emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

Spark takes a whole-person approach, addressing underlying trauma and basic needs as part of an individualized recovery plan. Rather than offering cookie-cutter solutions, it draws on varied methods, including mindfulness, exercise, and green space therapy, and connects clients with community resources such as therapists, vocational specialists, childcare, transportation, and housing options. The organization aims to help people take practical steps toward their goals, build resilience, and find renewed possibilities.
