Spartans Community Foundation

Spartans Community Foundation is a charity and social enterprise based in North Edinburgh, working to improve people’s lives through the power of people and sport. Its approach puts love, compassion and dignity at the heart of its community work, and the organisation describes itself as “here for good.”

The Foundation offers youth work, education, and health and wellbeing programmes. Its youth team provides free activities at Spartans and in local schools. Education provision includes alternative primary and secondary schools, school-based youth work, and programmes delivered by Education Officers. Health and wellbeing activities include free or low-cost yoga, Pilates, women’s football fitness, walking football, sporting memories and para-football.

For families and sports participants, it runs children’s football coaching with Scottish Football Association-qualified junior coaches and football-themed birthday parties. Facilities include hireable 11-a-side, 7-a-side and 5-a-side pitches, with changing and officials’ rooms, plus clubhouse space for functions, workshops and dance or indoor exercise. Catering and hospitality can also be arranged for events.
