Spartina Flats Custom Rods is a Claxton, Georgia-based brand specializing in custom fly and conventional fishing rods. Its purpose-built rods are designed for anglers who value feel, balance, durability, and reliable performance across a range of waters, from Lowcountry marshes and tidal creeks to coastal beaches, inland lakes and rivers, and high mountain streams.
Each rod is built one at a time and tailored to the customer’s target species, techniques, tackle, and fishing style. Spartina Flats works directly with anglers to shape a rod around its intended use, aiming to make each one a practical, well-performing tool. The company’s hands-on approach is informed by fishing the same kinds of environments its customers pursue. Time on the water helps guide decisions about blanks, guide layouts, components, balance, recovery, sensitivity, casting feel, durability, and fish-fighting control.
Spartina Flats offers a custom build process for anglers seeking equipment suited to their specific needs. Its focus is not only on appearance, but also on how a rod performs when conditions and fishing decisions matter.
