SPB is an independent organization established in 1957 as a section of the Lisbon Society of Medical Sciences. Its mission is to promote the teaching, learning and research of biochemistry in Portugal, supporting a community of people interested in the field. The organization brings members together through thematic groups focused on Biochemistry of Aging and Regeneration, RNA Biology, Education in Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, and Redox Biology and Oxidative Stress.
