St. Petersburg Eye Care Specialists (SPECS) is a family-owned eye care practice serving the St. Petersburg, Florida, area from two locations: Downtown St. Pete and Tyrone. The practice continues a tradition of local eye care spanning more than 60 years. Tara and Jeremy Camargo took over from Dr. Marantz in 2015 and have since expanded the practice while maintaining its focus on personalized, high-quality service.

SPECS provides annual eye exams for patients aged five and older, assessing vision and checking for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and macular degeneration. Its services also include contact lens fittings for a range of lens types, medical visits for eye concerns, and evaluations with referrals to specialists when needed. The practice co-manages LASIK and cataract surgery with area specialists. At both locations, an in-house optical team helps customers choose designer and budget eyeglass frames, single-vision, multifocal, or progressive lenses, coatings, and sunglasses. SPECS brings routine vision care, medical support, eyewear, and surgical coordination together in one practice.
