Spectrum Training is a firearms instruction business led by instructor Steve Vinson, offering pistol classes for people who want to build safe, effective shooting skills or improve their performance. Its instruction is open to participants who can load magazines and are comfortable firing a pistol, with coaching adapted to individual experience.

The Foundations class develops core techniques, including stance, sight picture, trigger press, grip, presenting the pistol, drawing from a holster, transitions, and one-handed shooting. The Drills & Skills classes use established qualifications and shooting drills to assess performance, identify the skills each drill tests, and provide practice before participants try again. Featured exercises include the Air Marshal’s Qualification, the Tier 1 Concealed Three Seven’s Drill, FBI Bullseye Qualification, and Modern Samurai Project standards.

Classes are conducted at Spectrum Training’s home range in Auburn, Indiana, with registration required and group-size limits. Private lessons and hosted classes are also available. Vinson draws on training with established firearms instructors, extensive teaching experience, and regular shooting and competition participation.
