Speculoos

Speculoos World is a community-oriented 3D virtual world built on OpenSimulator, an open-source platform for creating and hosting shared virtual environments. Since 2011, it has offered a space where visitors can meet, spend time together, and create their own objects, landscapes, and buildings. New users can register to create an avatar and receive instructions for accessing the grid.

The world is maintained by an individual primarily for personal enjoyment and to give creative people room to explore their ideas. Land is generally available free of charge, subject to a small set of rules. Full regions may also be available on request and under specific conditions. The site provides information about access and registration, parcel and region hosting, projects, help, and donations.

Speculoos World shares grid updates, community news, and information about OpenSimulator-related projects and events. Its site is available in several languages, although much of the content is in English. The name “Speculoos” refers to the traditional Belgian biscuit, though the virtual world is the focus of the brand.
