About SPEDP
Spedpngo_South Sudan, also known as Support for Peace and Education Development Programme (SPEDP), is a national non-governmental organization working towards building an inclusive and transforming society that lives in peace and dignity. Established in 2007 by professional and social development workers, SPEDP is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the people of South Sudan. The organization operates in eight of the ten states in South Sudan, namely Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Jonglei, Western Equatoria, Unity, and Upper Nile.
They have also expanded their operations to Uganda, specifically in Koboko, Yumbe, and Arua Districts, where they support South Sudanese refugees who have fled their country due to conflicts. SPEDP focuses on various areas, including humanitarian response, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives, gender, protection, and peace building, resilience building, food security and livelihood, education, health and nutrition, and research and innovation. They work closely with communities to empower them and improve their standard of living through community-led initiatives.
