Speech Therapy DC

Liesl Hartmann is a board-certified speech-language pathologist and DIR/Floortime specialist serving children and families in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and wider DMV area. With more than 20 years of experience, she focuses on pediatric speech and language development, particularly for children with language disorders and social learning challenges. Hartmann is the Clinical Director for Positive Development in the DMV area and now sees clients through the organization.

Her approach is relationship-based, play-centered, and tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, and family circumstances. Services include individualized therapy in office, home, and school settings, as well as group therapy, classroom support, and parent coaching. She also works collaboratively with caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to support children’s communication and social development across everyday environments.

Hartmann’s training includes DIR/Floortime, SCERTS, Social Thinking, PROMPT, Lindamood Bell, Hanen, and the Kaufman Apraxia approach. She also provides training and practical strategies for parents, schools, and fellow speech-language pathologists, helping families build on therapeutic progress in daily life.
