The 'Federazione Speleologica Campana' is a prominent environmental association dedicated to the conservation and education of speleology, situated in Italy. Under the leadership of President Simona Cafaro, the federation has successfully initiated projects like "Giovani Custodi del Carsismo" (Young Guardians of Karst), recognizing its commitment to fostering environmental awareness among youth. This project recently received funding from the 2024 Bando 5x1000 for its robust educational structure, clear objectives, and effective planning, aiming to engage young people in environmental protection through hands-on experiences.
In addition to spearheading innovative projects, the federation provides a range of services including training courses in speleology, underwater exploration, and the study of artificial cavities. They also facilitate numerous educational resources such as publications, guides, and a specialized library to enhance the knowledge of and access to speleological topics. Overall, the Federazione Speleologica Campana plays a vital role in the promotion of environmental stewardship and the preservation of Italy's unique subterranean heritage.
