About SPGH
The Portuguese Society of Human Genetics (SPGH) is an organisation dedicated to advancing research, education and professional practice in human genetics in Portugal. It promotes the application of genetic knowledge to science and healthcare, with the aim of supporting better care for people and society. Through conferences, courses, publications and national and international partnerships, the SPGH encourages the exchange of scientific and clinical expertise among healthcare professionals, researchers and patient associations.
Its activities include an annual meeting, a leading gathering for the Portuguese human genetics community, where participants discuss developments and strengthen collaboration. The society also organises and supports scientific events, including symposia on medical genetics, rare diseases and other related topics.
