About SPHS
Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services, Inc. (SPHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on identifying and meeting health and social service needs across southwestern Pennsylvania. For more than 55 years, it has served individuals and families in the region, including Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
The SPHS system brings together a broad range of programs designed to support people at different stages and in varied circumstances. Its services include child care, aging programs, mental health treatment and care, substance abuse treatment, assistance for people experiencing homelessness, home health care, nutrition services, and family support. Through its Centers of Excellence, SPHS helps people with opioid-related substance use disorders access treatment, ongoing care, and community support.
The organization also operates Southwest PA 2-1-1, a free, confidential, 24-hour information and referral service connecting residents in 11 counties with community, health, and disaster services. SPHS works through affiliated organizations and programs to make these resources accessible throughout the region
