SpieleMA e. V. is a Mannheim-based board game association dedicated to making games accessible and bringing people together through play.
Founded in 2012, the nonprofit took over a long-running public board game lending service and now operates from the Jugendkulturzentrum forum, with support from the City of Mannheim. Its collection includes more than 3,500 games, from recent releases to every Spiel des Jahres and Kennerspiel des Jahres winner. Residents can borrow games free of charge for up to four weeks; the service serves around 1,200 users and records approximately 6,000 loans each year.
The association also hosts regular board game meetups, including a monthly gathering in Mannheim, and organizes Mannheim Spielt!, described as the city’s largest board game event. Alongside the event, visitors can browse and buy games at a board game flea market. SpieleMA e.
V. also runs the regional qualifying competition for the German Team Board Game Championship and offers opportunities to join the lending service or become an association member
