Spies Racing

Spies Racing is a family-led racehorse training partnership based at Randjesfontein, Gauteng, continuing a tradition shaped across three generations. Trainers Corne and Xander Spies bring together decades of experience, horsemanship and bloodstock judgment with a personal, owner-focused approach. The stable has produced Grade 1 winners, graded performers and feature winners, with successes across South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Spies Racing offers racehorse ownership opportunities for people with different budgets and levels of involvement. The team helps prospective owners understand available horses, pedigrees, shares, ownership structures and expected costs, and can guide them from selecting a horse through training and race planning. Owners may purchase a horse outright or take a registered percentage in a partnership, subject to applicable terms and racing-authority requirements.

The stable emphasises individual training, thoughtful race placement, direct communication and clear explanations of progress, setbacks and next steps. Owners can arrange stable visits, follow their horse’s preparation and take part in the race-day experience. Current opportunities may include shares in selected horses, with availability subject to change.
