Sociedade Portuguesa de Medicina da Longevidade e Antienvelhecimento

The Sociedade Portuguesa de Medicina da Longevidade e Antienvelhecimento (SPMLA) is a Portuguese medical association established in 2023 to advance knowledge and professional collaboration in longevity and healthy ageing. It brings together a multidisciplinary community focused on integrated care, scientific excellence and cooperation across health specialties. The association supports healthcare professionals through complementary training, scientific content and opportunities to exchange experience.

Its educational themes include nutrition, sleep health, physical activity, hormone modulation, personal relationships and stress management. SPMLA also promotes professional events, including its National Longevity Congress, and provides a members’ area and blog for continued engagement. Membership is available to eligible doctors registered with Portugal’s medical order, as well as to doctors practising abroad who meet corresponding criteria in their country.

The association offers effective, associate individual and correspondent membership categories, each with an annual fee. Based in Lisbon, SPMLA aims to help health professionals respond to the growing importance of living longer with quality of life, while encouraging evidence-informed discussion and a holistic approach to patient wellbeing
