SPOĽACH is a Slovak civic association focused on improving the quality of life of people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Based in Banská Bystrica, the organisation grew out of a support group for relatives and caregivers and continues to serve people with dementia, their families, volunteers, care professionals and others involved in support and care. Its work combines practical assistance, peer support, education and services designed to help individuals and families navigate the challenges of dementia.

Through Alzheimerfórum, it features ten instructional videos addressing common issues that arise when caring for a person with dementia at home. The organisation highlights the contribution of volunteers and holds a quality mark. By bringing caregivers together and making knowledge accessible, SPOĽACH helps strengthen support for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in its community.
