Sport Travail Biologie

Association Sport Travail Biologie (ASTB) is a French nonprofit association established in 1977 to support the understanding and improvement of physical capacity, performance, and health. It brings together people from sport, work, education, research, medicine, the arts, and leisure, including practitioners and professionals in life sciences, physical sciences, sport, and industry. By combining their expertise, members aim to help individuals assess and monitor physical aptitude, measure the demands and energy costs of sporting or professional activities, and identify ways to improve performance and reduce health problems.

The association’s work also considers older adults and older people who may be physically vulnerable. ASTB makes information and practical methods available to help people understand their capabilities and how they may improve them. Its website features scientific individual training, services, performance information, training stages, publications, and membership and donation options.

The organisation is structured around operational departments, a governing and administrative committee, and a scientific and ethics committee. Its broader purpose includes assistance and solidarity for people facing difficulties that threaten their independence
