Sportenspeldekwakel

Sport en Spel de Kwakel is a community event that has brought children together for a weekend of games and activities at the KDO grounds since 1976. It has grown from its first edition, attended by 135 children, to an event for around 250 children in school years four through eight. The programme combines outdoor challenges, team activities and time spent together in a tented camp.

The weekend begins on Friday with an opening game, a group activity, a disco and, for the youngest groups, a maze treasure hunt. On Saturday, children walk to Poldersport in De Kwakel for games and survival activities, then return for lunch and an afternoon of events. These include a games circuit, mini golf, athletics, a creative tent assignment and The Battle, with scores recorded for children to share at home. Evening activities include a night game for older children. Sunday continues with Sport en Spel activities before a group closing at 4 p.m.
