Sporting Karaté Marseille

Sporting Karaté Marseille is a Shotokan karate club in the Bonneveine district of Marseille, welcoming children from age four, teenagers and adults at every level, from beginners to experienced competitors. Founded and led by Didier Lupo, an eighth-dan black belt and French and European champion, the club is affiliated with the French Karate Federation, the PACA league and the Bouches-du-Rhône departmental committee. Its five qualified instructors teach in a structured, supportive environment grounded in traditional karate values, including respect, humility, perseverance and discipline.

The club offers a varied programme for different ages and goals. Adult beginners can build core skills such as stances, movement, basic techniques and introductory kata. Combat classes develop kumite through partner drills, strategy, pad work and controlled sparring. Advanced traditional karate sessions focus on kihon, higher-level kata, partner practice and bunkai, the practical applications of kata techniques. Sporting Karaté Marseille also provides children’s classes and opportunities to deepen technical practice.
