SPQ Rome is a passionate project dedicated to the exploration and understanding of the Roman Republic. Launched in the summer of 2025, this initiative was inspired by a deep interest in Roman history, sparked by influential works such as Mike Duncan's The History of Rome podcast and the writings of esteemed authors like Tom Holland and Mary Beard. SPQ Rome aims to provide an updated and accessible directory of Roman magistrates, building on rich historical texts like T.

Robert S. Broughton's Magistrates of the Roman Republic. The project is continually evolving, with a commitment to expanding and refining its dataset, thus offering a unique research tool for enthusiasts and scholars alike.

Visitors to the site will find a user-friendly interface where they can explore the intricacies of Roman governance throughout the Republic. Feedback and suggestions are welcome, as the site is an ongoing labor of love, designed to enhance collective knowledge of this captivating era in history
