The Springboro Juneteenth Jubilee is a vibrant annual festival that celebrates freedom, diversity, and community engagement in Springboro, Ohio. Established in 2020 by a group of local residents motivated by the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the Jubilee has evolved from an intimate gathering into a city-wide celebration that welcomes participation from the Greater Dayton and Cincinnati areas.
The festival commemorates Juneteenth, marking the emancipation of enslaved individuals in the United States and fostering a commitment to equity for all. The Jubilee features a variety of events, including live performances, educational exhibits, and cultural showcases, with a special focus on the historical significance of Springboro in the Underground Railroad movement.
Each year, the event grows, with added venues, activities, and opportunities for local vendors and sponsors to engage with the community. The Jubilee not only serves as a celebration but also as a platform for promoting Black culture, history, and local businesses. All are invited to join in this uplifting and educational celebration of freedom and heritage.
