SQS – The Finnish Society for Queer Studies is a scholarly association dedicated to promoting queer research in Finland. It supports the development and visibility of the field through publishing, academic events and opportunities for researchers and others interested in queer studies to connect. The society publishes SQS Journal, an open-access online publication that readers can access free of charge.
It also organises national queer studies seminars and other events, including research days and workshops, and shares calls for contributions and programme information. The society’s website provides details about its rules, board, past boards and contact information, alongside news and resources such as the Uniqueer mailing list. People can join the society to support its work, including the publication of the journal and the organisation of seminars and events.
SQS is also a member of the Association of Finnish Scholarly Publishers. Through its publishing and community activities, the society helps advance queer research and scholarly exchange in Finland
