About The Sociological Review Foundation
The Sociological Review Foundation is a UK registered charity dedicated to making sociology accessible and influential in understanding and changing society. Founded to use royalties from The Sociological Review journal, established in 1908, the Foundation was registered as a charity in 2015. It builds an inclusive global community of thinkers, supporting dialogue, early career researchers and under-represented voices while connecting sociological ideas with everyday life.
Through its publications, events and creative projects, it shares research in accessible forms and encourages public engagement. Its offerings include a quarterly open-access magazine, the Uncommon Sense podcast, lectures, Conversations events, seminars and conferences. The Foundation also supports researchers with writing retreats, event bursaries and opportunities to develop skills and networks.
Free educational resources serve A-level students and teachers, including lesson plans, curriculum materials and articles on research methods. It collaborates with artists and authors through residencies and creative writing initiatives. Supported by donations and fundraising, the Foundation aims to broaden participation in sociology and foster ideas that can help address pressing social challenges
