Regional Genealogy is a digital family-history project focused on the Sarajevo-Romanija region and Upper Podrinje. Its goal is to preserve and connect genealogical information about Serbian families who have lived in Eastern Bosnia over roughly the past 250 years. The site reports a database of more than 150,000 names and presents family trees as part of a wider, interconnected “family forest,” linking relatives across surnames and tracing relationships through marriage and different family lines.

Visitors can search names, surnames, families, places, and other records, and explore statistics, calendars, cemeteries, photographs, documents, family branches, and biographical notes. The project also gathers material from interviews, family traditions, published and unpublished literature, church and civil registers, obituaries, and field research. Its broader purpose is to help people discover their ancestry, preserve oral histories and local heritage, and document births, deaths, migration, and wartime loss. Contributors are invited to share corrections and additional information, while the site also offers family-tree presentation services and accepts donations and sponsorships.
