Stiftelsens formål er å forvalte aksjer den ble tilført ved opprettelsen i 2012 og å utøve og opprettholde et betydelig, langsiktig og stabilt eierskap i SpareBank 1 SR-Bank ASA. Stiftelsen kan disponere overskudd og utdele gaver til allmennyttige formål på Sør-Vestlandet. Utdeling av gaver skal skje i tråd med Stiftelsens visjon om "Sammen skaper vi gode lokalsamfunn" samt Stiftelsens verdier engasjere, skape og utvikle". Det er sammen vi skaper verdier.
