Southern Star Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Covington, Georgia, dedicated to the humane and safe treatment of neglected, abused, and forgotten horses. The organization provides a safe haven for equines in need, helping rescue horses and prepare them for adoption into permanent homes. Its website features horses available for adoption, information about the benefits of adopting, adoption applications, and success stories that share outcomes for rehomed animals.

The rescue also offers a surrender application for people seeking help for a horse and a volunteer application for those interested in supporting its work. Community members can contribute in several ways, including options that the organization says may involve no cost to the supporter. A gallery provides candid photographs of the horses and life around the farm. Donations are tax-deductible, and support helps advance the rescue’s mission to care for horses in need.
