SSS Rocketry

Welcome to SSS Rocketry, the Superstition Spacemodeling Society (SSS)! We're a passionate community of rocket enthusiasts based in Phoenix, AZ. Our members, just like you, eagerly await our monthly launches, club meetings, and other exciting activities. As part of SSS Rocketry, you'll have access to a wealth of rocket knowledge and expertise from fellow members, and we encourage you to share your own ideas and expertise as well.

Since our establishment in 1989, our goal has always been to maintain rocketry as a safe, fun, and educational hobby that brings people together. Our launch site, located near exit 53 on the I-10, is suitable for rockets of all power levels. We also organize park launches as part of our community outreach initiatives.

SSS is a chartered section of the NAR (#506), which supports rocketry across various levels and sponsors model rocket contests nationwide. NAR membership includes a subscription to Sport Rocketry magazine and the opportunity to avail a $2,000,000 liability insurance policy. While we provide insurance coverage for our launch activities, we recommend individuals to have their own insurance through NAR, Tripoli, homeowner's insurance, or another aero modeling organization.

At SSS, safety is a priority, and we strictly prohibit smoking or open flames within designated areas. Our launch range operates using the Misfire Alley system, ensuring safe and reliable launches. To ensure smooth operations, we encourage members to volunteer in setting up, operating, and tearing down the range equipment.

This ensures that everyone gets an equal opportunity to fly their rockets. Stay connected with us through our website and social media platforms for updates on our upcoming events, news, and resources. Join SSS Rocketry today to be part of a thriving community of rocketry enthusiasts and embark on an exciting journey of exploration and knowledge!
