About Birmingham Museums
Birmingham Museums is a charitable organisation that brings together museums and historic sites across Birmingham, offering visitors opportunities to explore art, history, science, industry and local heritage. Its venues include Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Thinktank, Aston Hall, Blakesley Hall, the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, Sarehole Mill, Soho House, Weoley Castle and the Museum Collection Centre. Across these locations, visitors can discover collections spanning art and design, human history, natural science, and science and industry, as well as attend events and educational sessions.
At Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, the Staffordshire Hoard exhibition presents hundreds of pieces from the largest known hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold. Displays explore the objects’ history, craftsmanship and conservation, with hands-on activities for younger visitors and a reconstruction of Anglo-Saxon life. The museum also features galleries including the Pre-Raphaelites, Birmingham History Galleries and Industrial Gallery. Birmingham Museums supports schools, communities and researchers through learning resources, volunteering and professional services.
