About St. Anthony Shrine
St. Anthony Shrine, located in Cincinnati, is a National Shrine dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua.
Since 1888, the Franciscan friars have been the custodians of this sacred place. In addition to their stewardship, the friars also serve in various roles, such as parish and campus ministers, hospital and prison chaplains, counselors, educators, and administrators. They are involved in evangelization efforts, anti-poverty programs, and missionary work, spreading the Good News in a multitude of ways.
The 130 friars of St. John the Baptist Province, members of the Order of Friars Minor, live and work across several states, including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Illinois, as well as in Jamaica and Washington, D. C.
The Shrine offers a range of services, including prayer requests, novenas, lighting candles, and offering Masses for specific intentions.
