Stardust Initiative

Stardust is a climate technology company developing Sunlight Reflection Technology (SRT) to help stabilize Earth’s temperature. Founded on the belief that human ingenuity can protect the planet, the organization is exploring a planetary-scale approach intended to be deployed within this decade. SRT aims to mimic a naturally occurring atmospheric phenomenon by introducing particles into the upper atmosphere, where they would reflect a small fraction of incoming sunlight. Stardust describes the approach as safe, controllable, and reversible.

The company’s work spans atmospheric physics, chemistry, materials science, aerospace engineering, and environmental policy. It conducts collaborative research with academic partners and shares findings through scientific publications. Its research includes particle design and dispersal, atmospheric interactions, modeling, and questions of safety and coordination. Stardust also emphasizes responsible development, working with external scientific and governance experts to shape principles for its research and decision-making. Through its technology development, research collaborations, publications, and public information, Stardust focuses on exploring sunlight reflection as a potential means of reducing overheating while grounding its work in scientific rigor and responsible oversight.
