Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is a brand that honors veterans by providing them with a memorable trip to Washington, D. C., where they can visit the memorials dedicated to their service. The brand was founded in 2008 by Joe Dean, who was inspired to bring the program to Southeastern Wisconsin after seeing a news segment about the National Honor Flight Network.

From humble beginnings, the brand has grown through fundraisers and partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and individuals who want to express their appreciation for WWII, Korean, and Vietnam War veterans. The Honor Flight program itself was conceived by Earl Morse, a physician assistant and retired Air Force Captain, who recognized the financial and physical limitations that prevented many veterans from visiting their memorials. With the help of other pilots, Morse initiated the program, where veterans pay nothing and are personally escorted by pilots around D.

C. Since its establishment, the Honor Flight Network, of which Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is a part, has transported nearly 250,000 veterans to their memorials in Washington, DC. Every day is a bonus for these deserving heroes
