About Startup Foundation
Startup Foundation is a brand that aims to create more entrepreneurs, foster the growth and internationalization of new companies, and support the startup mentality. Founded in 2012 by fifty-seven Finnish technology influencers, entrepreneurs, and investors, the foundation is dedicated to giving back to the ecosystem that nurtured it. Externally, Startup Foundation supports not-for-profit initiatives that advance its mission, as well as individuals embarking on their entrepreneurial journeys.
It has been an integral part of the Finnish startup ecosystem for a decade, endorsing initiatives such as Slush, Junction, The Shortcut, Maria 01, and serving as the first home for Wave Ventures. A snapshot of the Startup Foundation's community includes Slush, the world's leading startup event; Junction, Europe's premier hackathon; Maria 01, an entrepreneurial community and tech team campus; and The Shortcut, a platform for professional integration and career transformation in Finland.
