Statkraft

Statkraft is a prominent energy company, established in 1993, and is recognized as Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy. Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Statkraft specializes in hydropower, wind power, and solar power, with a commitment to sustainability and innovative energy solutions. The company notably developed the Khimti hydropower plant in Nepal, marking its first international project. This facility, located 100 kilometers east of Kathmandu, has been operational since July 2000, boasting an installed capacity of 60 MW and generating an average of 350 GWh annually—accounting for nearly 15% of the nation's electricity production.

In addition to energy generation, Statkraft focuses on community development through initiatives in education, irrigation, and healthcare surrounding the Khimti plant. With operations in over 20 countries and a workforce of around 7,000 employees, Statkraft is dedicated to renewing the way the world is powered by providing solutions like power purchase agreements, carbon emission reductions, and green hydrogen products.
