SANE (Safer Alternatives through Networking and Education) is a Sacramento-based organization that supports the quality of life of people who use drugs. Its work is grounded in a humanistic approach to harm reduction and emphasizes respect for human rights and personal dignity. SANE offers safe, non-judgmental, free services designed with and for the community.

Its programs include syringe access, medication assistance, training and support for satellite syringe exchangers, and overdose prevention, recognition, and response. The organization also helps people access naloxone, including through a mail-order partnership with NEXT Distro. Based at 2211 Del Paso Boulevard, SANE welcomes visitors during afternoon office hours Tuesday through Saturday.

Community members can learn about its services, volunteer, donate money or goods, and purchase merchandise to support its work. SANE provides contact and program information online, along with ways to get involved and request naloxone.
