About St Breward History
St Breward History Group is a community history organisation dedicated to researching, preserving and sharing the heritage of St Breward, a village and parish on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. Founded in 2010, the group documents the people, places, work and everyday life that have shaped the parish, helping keep local stories accessible to current and future generations. Its growing archive brings together photographs, historical documents and recorded memories, and the group invites the public to help identify people and events featured in its collections.
Visitors can explore articles and archive material covering subjects such as farming, mining, granite quarrying, china clay, schools, clubs and community celebrations. The group also offers a book collection, historical resources and links, maps, and its Explore St Breward project, which presents local history through photographs, films, aerial views, documents and audio recordings. Regular monthly meetings at St Breward Village Hall feature informal talks on historical topics, with refreshments. New members and visitors are welcome, and the group publishes programme details and news about upcoming events.
