Stefan Leuchter

Studio Stefan Leuchter is an independent creative practice associated with Rotterdam, working across object design, interior architecture and light art. The studio brings artistic ideas into functional spaces and objects, with projects that explore materials, light and atmosphere. Its light-art work includes Human Nature, a series made from acrylic and steel that sits between art and design, and Versatile, which investigates transparency and translucence through layered, coloured acrylic glass.

The studio also creates the Bambus Lampe, combining Indonesian bamboo with hand-blown glass to form a sculptural light. In interior design, Studio Stefan Leuchter has worked on a reorganization and redesign for the graphic design studio De Ronners, transformed a small office into a calm Traditional Chinese Medicine practice for Praktijk Roos Greve, and developed the Backyard restaurant concept in Rotterdam’s city centre. These examples reflect a practice that responds to each client and setting, from bespoke lighting to complete interior transformations
