About Stefan Zweig
STEFAN ZWEIG DIGITAL is an international information and research portal dedicated to the life and work of Austrian writer Stefan Zweig. Initiated by the Salzburg Literature Archive, the project brings together records and resources that help researchers and readers explore Zweig’s literary legacy and reconstruct his estate, which is scattered across institutions and collections worldwide.
The portal catalogs extensive manuscript holdings from the Salzburg Literature Archive, the Daniel A. Reed Library in Fredonia, New York, the National Library of Israel, and the German Literature Archive in Marbach; some records include digital facsimiles. It also provides a catalog of identifiable books from Zweig’s personal library and online access to his autograph collection, described as one of the most significant of its time.
Users can search resources covering manuscripts, works, correspondence, personal documents, collections, first editions, and bibliography. The site also offers thematic presentations, including material on Zweig and Frans Masereel, Sigmund Freud, and his work Marie Antoinette.
