About STEMbees
STEMbees® is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and mentoring young African females, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Our mission is to increase the visibility and participation of girls and women in STEM, helping to bridge the gender gap in these fields. Through our initiatives, we aim to build a community of Sisters in STEM, providing support and guidance to girls and young women from underserved communities and low socioeconomic backgrounds.
STEMbees was founded in 2014 by Linda Ansong, Angela Koranteng, and Lady-Omega Hammond, who experienced firsthand the challenges faced by minorities in STEM. With a team of talented and dedicated individuals, we work together to close the academic and career achievement gap for women and girls in STEM. From robotics and STEM education to satellite technology modules, we offer a range of programs and mentorship opportunities to equip girls with the skills and confidence they need to excel in STEM fields.
