About Stepping Stones Project
Stepping Stones Project is a unique initiative aimed at empowering school teachers, mothers, and caregivers to promote overall child development. The project focuses on enhancing early child development (ECD) programs for children from 0 to 6 years old. Started in 2013, Stepping Stones Project collaborates with local Anganwadi workers in remote and underserved rural areas of Wardha and Nagpur Districts in Central India.
The program, named "Stepping Stones" in 2016, envisions developing a sustainable model to promote ECD in rural areas, with the potential of scaling through the government ICDS program. Their mission is to ensure every child reaches their full developmental potential and contributes to Nation Building. By working collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders, Stepping Stones Project prioritizes the first 1000 days of a child's life, recognizing them as crucial for development.
